working method
The roastery is equipped with two fully electrically heated drum roasters, meaning no natural gas is used. Another health principle we uphold is that all processing methods, machine parts, and coffee bags are aluminum-free.

Story
DUNKELSTEINER COFFEE started in 2018 as "Dunkelsteiner Rösthaus." It remains a micro-roastery, but now adheres to the highest quality and organic standards. Through dedication and ambition, it has become "Austria's first triple-certified organic coffee roastery," offering organic, Bio Austria, and biodynamic (Demeter) certified Arabica and lupin coffees. The latter enabled them to be the first coffee roastery ever to be included in the "So schmeckt Niederösterreich" (This is how Lower Austria tastes) initiative. DA'BIOLUPI was the first Bio Austria certified lupin coffee and immediately won the Organic Product of the Year 2023 award.
